Thank you. It feels good to finally have benefits and actually love where you work. Hospira was OK, just didn’t do a lot. Because it was not privately owned and had FDA rules and regulations to follow, there was not a lot that tier one analysts could do. Here it is a completely different story. I have learned so much in the last 4 months it is amazing. I am actually using my education I received at PC ProSchools. And with still owing Sallie Mae, it feels pretty good. I was given an Active Directory/Distribution Group project one month in. I learned a lot about Active Directory and the way Distribution groups work in Outlook. I also set up new employees and utilize the permission/rights instruction I received at PC ProSchools. I am glad I went through the experience of contractor assignments, but made myself a promise that I would find an IT position where I was an employee not a contractor. If I had one bit of advice to new students, do the contractor work, get some experience under your belt and there will be employee positions that will come your way. I have completed the information you asked for below. Thanks for the supportive words. I hope everything is going well with you too. Say hi to Keith for me.

Hi Shawn,

I received your email earlier this afternoon – congratulations! I would love to hear more about your position with Briggs Corp. What type of calls do you generally field on the Help Desk? The article is terrific, and I’ll certainly share it with the students.

May the Luck of the Irish Be with You!

Published by kpelchat under Student Success Stories

I’m not Irish nor fully understand the meaning behind the holiday but I love how everyone wears green and there is a sense community on a day like today! I spoke to one class tonight. They are at the half-way point in their track and many have successfully passed their first certification exam and are putting their resumes together! As I looked out at the sea of green shirts, sweatshirts, even a green tie I thought…what a great group… they have nothing but LOTS of green in their futures!
Happy St. Patty’s Day!

Subject: 1 Year later

Hello,

It has been just about 1 year since I’ve graduated from PC Pro School. I thought I would tell you how and what I’ve been doing. I was an intern for Milwaukee County for 6 months. I am the first intern to be hired on as a contractor after only doing one internship. I am now a contractor for Milwaukee County hired through Velocity Partners. I do Desktop Support for the West Side of Milwaukee County. I just want to say “Thank you” if you hadn’t of pushed me I don’t think I would be where I am.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

YOUR FORMER STUDENT,

STEPHANIE P.

Thank you for the Thank you!

We have recently been interviewing for an open assistant instructor position and I was so impressed with the candidates…. all of them PC ProSchools grads or soon to be grads. I got the following thank you note from one of the candidates that unfortunately won’t be taking the position and is graduating later this month. It made me proud to see how unbelievably professional he is! What awesome students we have!!!

“Kate,

I wanted to thank you for the recommendation and taking the time to interview me for the TA position. Unfortunately after speaking with Dale the hours for the position conflicted with my current situation. Regardless I took away an invaluable experience as well as a new found appreciation for an initial and technical interview. The experience and knowledge that I gained from the interview process given to me by you and Dale will help me improve my interviewing skills for future interviews with potential employers, for that I am grateful. Again, thank you for the opportunity.

Sincerely,

S. Kern-MCP, MCDST, SCA”
