I received a special request last week to allow a student to take his exam early before the holiday break and more over, before his test prep was completed. I generally don’t allow these requests because I want to make sure the students are fully prepared but this one got to me…. Adam wanted to take his exam early because his father is terminally ill and wasn’t expected to live through the weekend. His father had cosigned for his son to attend and Adam wanted to make sure his father knew was well on his way to success. Adam passed his exam, he told his instructor his father smiled (he isn’t able to speak anymore).
They know his father isn’t going to make it out of hospital, but Adam is still in class today. It was his Father’s Wish. The power of a parent’s love and support is truly amazing….
Tom finished class last Wednesday and is off to a new start in the IT industry. I love getting emails like this!!!! Kate,
My time at PC Pro Schools has been a fantastic experience, both professionally and personally.
The certifications and knowledge gained will certainly make my career change possible. But more importantly, I gained an association and friendship with caring people that will be a lasting memory. One that I shall cherish for many years to come. Of course I will pass on my overwhelming appreciation of the efforts your staff contributed to make this possible.
It is with unbelieveable sadness that I share with you that yesterday we lost a valued instructor, graduate and friend. Jim Cranston has passed away from what appears to be an infection associated with strep throat. At this point we do not know any service details but his family believes it will be sometime early next week.
James, Keith, Jason and David will be covering the instruction for your classes until we assign a permanent replacement.
Please share with us what Jim meant to you, the impact he made on your life, your favorite memory of Jim. We will be sharing your responses with his family and would love to have something to share at the services.
Jim was an inspiration to each of us and will be truly missed.
I just got this email from one of our academic advisors who enrolled a student that had a good job but just wasn’t satisfied. Going back to school can be a difficult decision for someone whose life is good and the thought of adding another activity into a busy schedule can be trying! Everything happens for a reason though…….I do love when things fall into place. Good things happen to good people!
Hi Kate, I wanted to let you know that Mick just called me. He wanted to thank all of us for working on getting him enrolled. His purpose for enrolling was to become more marketable, as he would want eventually want to get a new career. This week he was laid-off from his current position!!!! He told me his “pivot point” was getting the survey from me. After meeting with him I was having difficulty getting him back in until he was awarded his scholarships to make his financing option more obtainable.
Kate, he wants to thank all of us for our efforts in getting him enrolled. He just lost his job but I spoke to an excited and optimistic man that sees that the light at the end of the tunnel is not the headlight of an oncoming train!!!!
Is there ever enough time in the day???? I have a million ideas for blog entries from the many great things I witness here during my day and I just can’t find to document them all and share them with you so I am excited to announce that I will be incorporating a new video blog into The Click. This will be an unscripted look at the things I do during my day from faculty meetings to student orientations, job interviews and everything in between. I will be highlighting students and staff in my videos and their stories.
I hope you enjoy and I look forward to seeing you in The Click!
I just wanted to shoot you an email and say THANKS! You were a great teacher and I greatly appreciate what you and this school did for me! I love where I am working and the things I do every day. I hope everything is well with you! Thanks again and good luck deer hunting!
