Drifter Turns to PC ProSchools

It is rare that I am BLOWN away by a student’s feelings about their experience at PC ProSchools but when I got this from Kurt, it got me!!!
Before I came to PC Proschools I was a drifter. Not in the roaming from town to town sense, but in the “I’ll just wait and see what comes along” sense. I had no direction. I was working for a pay day loan store. No one imagines working for a pay day loan store when they are young. It’s the kind of job you end up in because you don’t know what else to do. You drift. Whatever comes along.

One of the craziest truths of life is that change, which seems incredibly hard, is actually fairly easy. It’s deciding to change that’s hard. Actually sitting down and admitting to yourself that you are drifting your life away, and that it’s time to do something about it. I had heard about a hundred ads for PC Proschools on the radio, but one day it just clicked. I decided that I needed to do this. For myself and my family, I needed to change. So I called.

The staff at PC Proschools was instrumental in helping to make this change happen. I had financial issues, not unusual these days, and it was difficult for me to get a loan. A lot of places like car dealerships, realtors, etc. will just let you go if you can’t come up with financing. Not PC Proschools. I must have spent 3 hours on separate occasions speaking with the admissions staff about different options and possibilities. I could not believe how hard they worked to make my decision to change into reality. If not for them, I wouldn’t be here today. And I truly thank them for not giving up on me.

The program itself is fantastic. I won’t lie, it can be very difficult at time, but it’s all worth it. Today I have started a new career as a help desk professional. I can see that hard work starting to pay off, and it is one of the greatest accomplishments in my life. I think one of the biggest problems with traditional colleges is that you don’t really see any payoff for your hard work. You struggle day in and day out with classes and tests and papers and on and on, and what do you get out of it?

I know what I got out of PC Proschools. Six months ago I was ashamed of what I did for a living. I was actually embarrassed. Now I am proud to say that I am a student at PC Proschools and an IT professional. To anyone else who feels that way about their job, and to any of the other “drifters” out there, the answer is simple. Decide to change. And then call PC Proschools.

PC ProSchools Announces 2010 Scholarship Award Program

Published by pcpro under Miscellaneous

PC ProSchools is thrilled to announce that the Educational Council has approved the 2010 Scholarship Award program which includes partial to full tuition scholarships for it’s future students.
In May of 2009 as we saw the need to help students finance their career change and began a program that allowed more students to benefit from the training that prepares them for not only for the IT field, but for a new career in general.
We pride ourselves on having a program that fits a busy adult lifestyle and a career in the IT industry will be a huge leap towards your career goals and creating a better future for you. The IT industry ranks among the fastest growing in the US so there has never been a better time than now to become an IT professional. With these uncertain economic times we were not sure the program would be able to continue into the new year; however, the program’s success and our graduation and placement results confirm this is a program that we can, should and will continue!
