PC Pro Education: An Investment in Your Future

Published by pcpro at 12:19 pm under Career Changing Advice

Here’s another great article in the newspaper about PC ProSchools…..
For those wanting to pursue a new career by getting trained with a new skill set, an inevitable hurdle will need to be crossed…securing funding for their education. When PC ProSchools announced their $3 Million grant and scholarship program for students enrolling into the summer term, that hurdle became much easier to conquer. “Our grant and scholarship initiative allows many here in our community to truly change their lives” says Vice President of Operations Wendy Mirenda. With education being an investment in one’s future, the next logical question is what is the return on that investment? The skills PC ProSchools graduates are gaining are in one of the fastest growing fields, Information Technology (IT).

IT has become an integral part of modern life. When exploring the potential of a career in computers a quick glance at the United States Department of Labor website and it is clear; a career in IT offers stability and opportunity. Overall, employment of computer network, systems, and database administrators is projected to increase by 30 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations. Recent PC ProSchools graduate Tom Cozzens states, “My life has completely changed most dramatically in my sense security and sense of peace.” Mr. Cozzens is now working in IT for Service Express.

After hiring multiple PC ProSchools graduates, Bill Smitley, Vice President of Corporate Recruiting with Service Express, shares “With little human contact and a large fee to use the job boards I have branched out my recruiting and started to find other ways to find those high-talent, qualified candidates my company requires. I have been working with PC ProSchools to help me find candidates for several of my locations and having many different talents. The candidates I get from PC ProSchools are highly qualified and motivated individuals. I have found my partnership with PC ProSchools to be a positive rewarding and professional experience. I look forward to working with them in the future to assist me in filling my many open positions.”

PC ProSchools is a nationally accredited Microsoft IT Academy offering a 6 month alternative to enter the IT industry. “We offer a unique and effective alternative to the traditional 2 or 4 year programs and we have proof it works. “Employers rate the hands-on experience that students receive at PC ProSchools as equivalent to working 1-2 years in the IT industry” says CEO Jim Brent. Graduates land in-demand IT jobs such as Help Desk Analysts, Network Administrators and Support Technicians. With our blended learning program our students achieve industry recognized Microsoft and Help Desk certifications and only need to come to the campus once a week while learning the rest from home with online lectures. This allows our students more time to spend with their families and friends while gaining skills to be employable.

The PC ProSchools $3 Million grant and scholarship program offered at the Brookfield, Wisconsin campus started a few weeks ago and the reception has been warm. Vice President of Education, Kate Pelchat said “This opportunity opens doors for many people. The smile on the face of someone I was able to help is a great feeling.”
