PC Pro Education: An Investment in Your Future

For those wanting to pursue a new career by getting trained with a new skill set, an inevitable hurdle will need to be crossed…securing funding for their education. When PC ProSchools announced their $3 Million grant and scholarship program for students enrolling into the summer term, that hurdle became much easier to conquer. “Our grant and scholarship initiative allows many here in our community to truly change their lives” says Vice President of Operations Wendy Mirenda. With education being an investment in one’s future, the next logical question is what is the return on that investment? The skills PC ProSchools graduates are gaining are in one of the fastest growing fields, Information Technology (IT).
IT has become an integral part of modern life. When exploring the potential of a career in computers a quick glance at the United States Department of Labor website and it is clear; a career in IT offers stability and opportunity. Overall, employment of computer network, systems, and database administrators is projected to increase by 30 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations. Recent PC ProSchools graduate Tom Cozzens states, “My life has completely changed most dramatically in my sense security and sense of peace.” Mr. Cozzens is now working in IT for Service Express.
