PC ProSchools Career Changing Advice

Published by pcpro under Career Changing Advice

I have recently been introduced to some amazingly motivational thoughts. This life coach challenges those he works with to ask themselves some powerful questions that lead to the truth about your life and the direction you are heading. I see so many parallels between his words and ideas and the students I get to work with on a daily basis.
Thomas Carlyle says “Nine-tenths of the miseries and vices of mankind proceed from idleness.” So the question you have to ask yourself is, are you moving forward or not? Of course you can easily answer yes but take a look at these deeper questions…be honest with yourself….this is your life and you only get one chance to live it!

□ Am I closer to the life of my dreams this year than I was last year?

□ Have I been charging ahead in life, standing still, or falling behind?

□ Am I truly moving forward toward my dreams, or am I simply conning myself into believing that I’m just “waiting for the right time to make my move”?

If you answered no to any of these questions, or not an overwhelmingly powerful YES, get out a piece of paper and finish the following statements:
□ The main reason I am where I am in life right now is because I chose to…

□ The main areas of my life where I seem to be spinning my wheels are…

□ The weight that I’ve been carrying around on my shoulders that has prevented me from moving forward is…

□ The dream that I absolutely must start moving toward once again is…

□ The first step I’m committed to taking right now is…

The truth lies in your answers. It’s your time!

Most Popular Sick Day in US

On the radio today (on MY way into work) I heard that TODAY is the most popular day to call in sick in the US. People realize that the summer is ending and want to really take some time to enjoy it! So my question is…. do you have sick days? Of course I am certainly not encouraging you to call in sick when you are actually quite well but wouldn’t it be nice to actually have those days to use just in case… AND…. get paid for them! I remember a couple months ago I saw a graduate that was planning his first family vacation ever to Tennessee. He was over 40 years old and so excited. He had the whole thing mapped out and his wife and kids were thrilled too. He said the best part of it was that he was getting PAID to go on vacation!

I bet you can’t wait to start your new career with great benefits too!!!
