Proud PC Pro Dad is Following Up

I have always felt that when students enroll at PC ProSchools they are becoming part of our family. But it doesn’t stop with the students. We keep in touch with their families too. I can’t tell you how many calls and emails I get from parents, wives, husbands, grown children and grandparents regarding the progress of their loved one! Here’s a response I got today after I sent him an update on the progress on his son!
I am happy to hear that the school is so successful at providing companies with qualified students. Myself and several other experienced IT people I know don’t even get phone calls so I am glad to see activity in the industry.

Laura is experiencing the same situation we sometimes so with S. He is a smart dedicated individual, but lacks in his timing of providing information, which is why I am consulting with you one his progress. He always makes good decisions and does them for the right reasons but needs to communicate better. I am working with him on this and he is beginning to mature in this area.

He did have an exceptional softball year. It sounds like just a game, but he plays at a level that requires commitment. He traveled throughout the year, and as actually in Minnesota now and goes to Florida next weekend. If he were to progress to the next level he would get paid to play, which is unusual for some his age. He has also been on mandatory overtime for a year and a half where he works, so between school, work and softball he has been a busy person.

I would like to thank you and your staff for the dedication you provided S.and latitude that allowed him to try to balance the three areas of his life. He and I recently talked and he is eager to pursue his new career.

I would definitely recommend that parties to take a look at your program if they are interested in a career in IT.

Best success,

PC ProSchools Works

Hello,
I just wanted to send out this Email to let you know what a wonderful job the school staff does for its students. I graduated and landed my first IT job in May 2010, Why, because of the teachers and support staff at PC Pro schools. I went to school with the dream of turning my life around and it happened, I am working for the state of MN and LOVING my new career.

The people I work with are great and the job itself is better than I had hoped my salary is more than 10,000 dollars over what I used to make in the retail environment as management. I will never forget the people and School that made this all possible for me.

THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING!!!!

PC Pro Mom Helps Her Two Kids Fund Their Educations at PC ProSchools

Published by kpelchat under Student Appreciation

I love this!!! What an impact we are making on this family. Her 26 year old son started a couple months ago and is doing great. He has a 3.71 GPA and is a shining star in class. Now her 27 daughter just enrolled! This mom knows the value of education and certifications. Neither went to college after high school and found themselves in jobs that just didn’t offer them the salary and potential they had hoped, nor that she wanted for them. Well, now they are on track for success and this mom couldn’t be more proud!

Yeah….done!!!!! Now you have 2 of my kids in your school. I might have to give a great by Thank you someday for getting them educated, motivated and independent. I am looking forward to it!

Have a great weekend. You deserve it.

PC ProSchools Student Shares Experience in His First Night of Class

OMG!!! <—-I wish you could see the excitement, I was a little sleepy during class cause I just came off a long day at work but it was a great time. I like the way Jason teaches, he’s not afraid to just go with the flow, go on tangents about important stuff, tell stories, and make jokes. This is what I been looking for in a teacher. Thank You for all your help Roz I really appreciate it.
And
I’m sure that this will work out just fine.

Thanks Again,
Billy

PC Pro Grad 18 months Later….

Evan

How different different Evan’s life is now….. I love the updates! Thanks for sharing this with me Dave!
Subject: Update from one of your long lost students

Hi Dave,

Just in case I haven’t said this before I loved having you as a teacher. Made the class time so much better than they already were. This school does a GREAT job of getting your foot solidly in the door of the IT industry. I just wanted to let you know that as good of a job as TDS is for some people it just didn’t work out for me there. I am however working at another helpdesk position but I have to say that it is one that I LOVE. I was working for them under contract for almost a year under Robert Half and now am an actual employee for just over 6 months now (hired in October). We have a great boss here, I work for the School District of Janesville, who because of there only being two of us at the helpdesk and the administrators constantly being pulled at more pressing matters has allowed us to do almost whatever we need to to complete the ticket. I will be going back to school sometime soon to work towards getting a Bachelors of Computer Science thanks to a great reimbursement program that they have here. I have been playing around with Linux and Unix distros which is fun but also shows me just how much I still have to learn. The latest project that we are undergoing is upgrading the lan’s of each school. We are putting in Cisco C4500 chassis of which I was lucky enough for them to let me work with them and smart enough to put in a few extra hours after work and now the project leader said that when we are going to work on the high schools he said that he is making me a team leader. To give you an idea, each high school has roughly 10 closest and each closet has roughly 350 ports. That I have to say is the highlight so far with working here. With this project I have been learning more about subneting and superneting. Because of that upgrade which puts the lan speed at 1gb our printers aren’t always to happy with that so we have to upgrade the firmware in the nic’s and make sure they have at least cat 5e or 6 other wise something that we can’t explain happens, they printers show as being offline but you can still print to them and they physically print themselves all while the status shows offline. To help the students there understand just how much “foot on desk time” they want us to have, HP (can’t speak for other pc manufacturers) has a management program that allows you to modify the bios (of which the industry will be doing away with completely in under 5 years) of any computer on your network right from your chair. To put an end to this book so far, I have so much more to tell that I can’t remember at the moment but to recap. I have just a lowly helpdesk title but am considered to be just under an Administrator by the administrators and the boss themselves because of my annoying tenacity in this field of which you have seen and has probably only gotten worse and also due to the training of which I have received at your school.

PC Pro Student Starting Next Week Shares His Excitement

Published by kpelchat under Student Appreciation

To: Diana Barber
Subject: Re: Orientation

I would like you to know that one of the reasons I am looking forward to attending is that I feel genuine support from you. It’s not that you just want money and that I’m another student or statistic. I really believe that you believe in me and that you want to see me succeed. I appreciate that and think that it will help drive me to prove myself the best that I can. I believe in the personal connection between staff and student and want to learn as much as I possibly can from the staff and the experience I am about to go through. I am ready for a change and this is the opportunity to be happy with my life. I have the resources and support to make myself feel like this is what I was meant to do and I am more thankful for this than you may realize.

I just stopped cleaning windows and took a job offer with Spectrum Health. It’s only housekeeping for now but by the end of my training I hope to be able to transfer to IT. Getting my foot in the door is definitely the first step in a good direction. It is my personal opinion that I will go on to help be a success story in a line of many for people that want to do something better and more meaningful with their lives. I have no doubt that I will be the most successful I have ever been with your help. It was your choice to accept me and that is why I feel that I should let you know how much this means. Thank you so much.

PC Pro Student Gives Thanks!

Published by kpelchat under Student Appreciation

To: Erin DeLeon
Subject: RE: Career Development Session 2 Videos

Hello Erin,

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the words of encouragement.
You’ve probably heard from many students how challenging it can be to balance work with school and life in general. For some it may come easy but for others, such as myself, it is quite a challenge. Everyone I’ve been in contact with at PC ProSchools has been nothing but supportive. Kate sat and spoke with me the day of my orientation and encouraged me from the start!

She spoke to me like a friend. She kept a professional presence and was down to earth and easy to communicate with. My academic advisor, Nicole has been very encouraging and helpful as well. And I can’t forget Jason, my instructor. He’s thorough and teaches in a way that is easy to understand.
He’s always willing to help out and review things that the class needs to cover again.

So to everyone at PC Pro that has played a part in my success thus far, thank you so much!

Sincerely,

Colleen Cronkleton, MCP

Tom is an amazing man! He had not been working for several years to raise his sons including one with extreme special needs which consumed the majority of his time. His son passed away and while his heart was breaking he knew he know had time to start a new career and focus on himself. He started classes this fall and just passed his first exam. I am so proud of him and know he is well on his way to a new start for the New Year!

Thank You!!! I appreciate the encouragement and the opportunity you’ve given me!
