Another student starts his IT career before graduating! Chris is still an active student, but he finished his MCP and MCDST and was really on top of things with his communication with his Career Advisor, submitting his resume and career search.   So when his Career Advisor called a national tech company and they needed someone to start 4 days later, Chris moved his classes from day to night immediately and was hired based on his fabulous personality and skill set. He was hired for a Help Desk role.  Chris absolutely loves his job and several students from this track have become a lot more aggressive in their job search. It’s a good thing, but the IT industry needs them! FAST!

PC Pro Student Lands Job Before Graduation

Published by pcpro under Student Job Announcement

Congratulations to our newest Network Technician! Ian landed a new job before he even graduated!!!! Ian was working as a manager of information systems at a hotel and now works for a national radiological practice as a network technician, which he found through networking and being aggressive with his job search, updating his resume consistently and talking with his PC Pro Career Advisor at least twice a week to make sure he shouldn’t be doing more. Ian is a fabulous candidate and they are lucky to have him.

Big Day for Job Placements at PC ProSchools!

We had a HUGE day at our Indianapolis Campus yesterday. A major telecommunications company came to conduct on-campus interviews with several students and 9 of them were HIRED on the spot! The company was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and technical skills of our students and graduates! The students loved that they could comfortably come to “their turf” to interview. They said it made the whole process less intimidating! “Interviewing  here at campus made me feel like I was just coming into class, only today, I left with a JOB!!!! Thanks PC Pro!”

Our Manager of Career Services, Laura, worked diligently to coordinate this entire process. She personally scheduled each student interview with the hiring company and followed up with each one. After the first 2 hours, 5 students had already been hired and Laura was beaming! I never doubt the commitment of my entire career services team! They love that their job is to get jobs!

Jim Cranston, One Year Anniversary

One year ago today we learned that Jim Cranston, PC ProSchools graduate and Lead Instructor, passed away unexpectedly. It feels like yesterday. There isn’t a day that goes by that he’s not remembered here! Shortly after his passing, we established the Jim Cranston Memorial Grant in his honor. In this year, 504 students have been awarded this grant to help towards the cost of their tuition at our 4 campuses. I know how honored he would be to know what an impact he is still making on so many individuals lives.

Ironically, one of the recipients, Trevor, worked at the very funeral home that served the Cranston family. He assisted the family in their darkest hours and when he learned he was being awarded the Jim Cranston Grant from me last winter it was an emotional experience to say the least. Trevor graduated and secured a new job in IT last month. His success is just one of many as a result of Jim!

We miss you Jim! May you continue to touch our lives! We are excited to announce we will be extending the Jim Cranston Memorial Grant indefinitely!

PC ProSchools LOVES Repeat Employment Opportunities

Erin, one of our Career Advisors, received this email today… LOVE IT!
Subject: Tech Position
Hello Erin,
Things seem to be really working out with Jarrod. He has a good work ethic, great drive, and has really caught on to the [COMPANY NAME] way.
You and I spoke a month or so ago we’re willing to look at any other “students” that are as good as Jarrod. Again the drive, work ethic, and willingness is key.

Thanks.

PC ProSchools Works

Hello,
I just wanted to send out this Email to let you know what a wonderful job the school staff does for its students. I graduated and landed my first IT job in May 2010, Why, because of the teachers and support staff at PC Pro schools. I went to school with the dream of turning my life around and it happened, I am working for the state of MN and LOVING my new career.

The people I work with are great and the job itself is better than I had hoped my salary is more than 10,000 dollars over what I used to make in the retail environment as management. I will never forget the people and School that made this all possible for me.

THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING!!!!
